Despite being tired from being out late on Saturday night, and despite having a sore heel from I have no idea what, I went hiking with a friend on Sunday. He and I go every few weeks. We drive across the bridge to Mt. Tam, hike for a bit, and then, sometimes, grab a late lunch of fish tacos and fish burritos and beer at popular spot in Mill Valley. We always pick slightly different trails, and because we’ve been doing this for a six or seven months, maybe more, we always see different things. This past Sunday was no exception. Lots of wild flowers were blooming, we chose a trail with some views of the ocean, and we passed a flock of wild turkeys (also called a rafter of turkeys). All told, we logged over 11 miles and 2000 feet of elevation. The burritos afterwards felt well-earned.
