Just after finishing my last post, and editing a few others (I always find typos and ways to say things better), I went on to Facebook to…. well, do whatever it is we do on Facebook. There are a few people on Facebook that I consider to be kindred spirits. We may not talk much (or ever), but I always relate to the things they seem to share (poems, articles, pictures). One of those people is a photographer who used to work for me as an assistant editor. Today she shared a video of John Krasinski doing a fake news channel called Some Good News. He shares some uplifting stories in these uncertain times – it’s worth watching. In that segment, he shared a clip that has gone viral – it’s a man, John Kline, in Alabama singing through a window pane to his wife who is in a nursing home suffering from Alzheimer’s. I’m not going to editorialize other than to say this is the type of story that touches the human soul. It’s what I think we all think we’re signing up for when we go out in search of real human connections. Read the article here – or just about anywhere else.
