It would be easier to stay or at least postpone. My friends are having an impromptu get together Saturday night. I’ve been watching the news of a storm moving up the east coast. It’s going to be raining from North Carolina up through New York for the better part of this weekend. Exploring a city in the rain is less than optimal. There’s also a chance of rain each day next week in the mountains where I was hoping to camp and hike. I’ve never camped before which means I’ve also never camped in the rain. Should be fun.
Despite the promises I’ve made to myself to not over-plan or fret, the weather is forcing me to focus on logistics and maybe switch some things around. I’ve booked my first two stops. I’ll head out this morning for Richmond, VA. I’m not super excited to spend a rain-soaked weekend in Richmond, VA, but I couldn’t find a city that wasn’t going to be soaked this weekend. Sunday, I’ll make my way to the Blue Ridge Mountains where I’ll spend two nights (maybe in the rain). After that, I’m thinking Charleston, SC with maybe a stop in-between to break up the drive.
Here goes nothin’…
